Who We Are
Escolhe AMAR+ E9G is a project funded by the Programa Escolhas and promoted by the Secretaria de Estado da Juventude e do Desporto, by the Instituto Português do Desporto e Juventude, I.P., with co-financing from Pessoas 2030, Portugal 2030 and the European Union.
Mission
Its objective is to promote social inclusion, equal opportunities in education and employment, combat discrimination, and foster civic participation, strengthening social cohesion.
Escolhe AMAR+ E9G is promoted and managed by the AMARGAIA Association and includes in its consortium GAJURB, the union of parishes of Mafamude and Vilar do Paraíso, the António Sérgio School Group, PSP and ACES.
The Escolhe AMAR+ E9G projct develops activities with childrens, youth and families residing in the social housing developments of Cabo Mor and Ruy de Carvalho. Alongside the children and families, the project promotes activities aimed at their holistic development, promoting:
Healthy lifestyles
Reduction of school absenteeism
Valuing the arts, culture, and sports
Empowerment for autonomy and citizenship of vulnerable individuals
